The second Hank read that Olivia's door was open, she cursed to herself and shut her laptop part way, clambering to her feet. "Dad! I'll be in Liv's room!" she called out through the open door.

"You don't finish that assignment, there's gonna be hell to pay, kid!" he barked just before she unceremoniously shut the door.

"Whatever, motherfucker." she huffed under her breath, grabbing her laptop bag and her schoolbooks before padding down the corridor to Liv's room. She was really starting to hate the fact that everything everyone had to say about her was spot on...being known that well again was a little unnerving.

Liv was a band geek and annoying as shit...but she was also easygoing, and just as clueless as Hank most of the time, without being at a total loss. The two of them could swap advice that would either fail or fly, and all without the stupid adult bullshit getting in the way.

Without even bothering to announce herself, Hank got the door open to Olivia's room without knocking and kicked it shut, moving over to drop her stuff on the table.

"Okay...you're a fucking moron." she declared without preamble, pointing at Olivia for emphasis when she had a hand free. "You're a goddamn fool, and you need to be sterilized so you don't procreate and shit. You have *not* been flirting with that dumb motherfucker."

"They just...make everything so cut and dry," Olivia remarked, frowning down at a particular entry. "They can't begin to explain what the Depression was really like...God, we have no appreciation of what we've got these days, seriously."

Shaking herself, she closed the book and set it aside again, folding her arms across her chest. "So when's Joe coming back? You're nicer when he's around."

Hank raised an eyebrow, glowering dubiously at Olivia as she spoke in a manner that wasn't altogether unusual, but no less freaky than it always was. It bugged Hank a little that she could eviscerate a demon, but couldn't stand it when Olivia started sounding like her grandma used to.

"All right, first? No freaky deaky shit." she grumbled, propping her chin in one hand. "And second, I have no fucking clue. Stupid motherfucker doesn't call me nearly as often as he should." //Which is every ten seconds.// she added silently, hating herself as she did. She had a serious love/hate relationship with the way Joe made her feel...and she was pretty sure she was in love with him at this point.

No...she knew she was in love with him. And loving someone was a weakness in her world...a weakness that was one day going to be used against her.

"I am not...doing the freaky deaky shit," Olivia huffed, rolling her eyes. "I'm just *saying*...nevermind, just nevermind." She sighed lightly and leaned back against the headboard, tipped her head a little at Hank. "You're lucky, y'know."

"Dude, you totally are with that whole 'back in my day, you whippersnapper' vibe you've got going on. *Again.*" Hank complained. "No wonder your mom thinks you're all reincarnated and shit...you're probably older than fucking all of us combined or something. It's *freaky* and weird, so fucking stop."

When she remarked on Hank being lucky, Hank scowled and tilted her head, flipping her hair back over her shoulder. Lucky? Well...yeah, maybe, but...

Having no clue what she meant, Hank huffed and rolled her eyes. "Yeah? How you figure, princess?" she grunted, rising long enough to toe off her shoes and flop down on the bed, stretching her legs out on either side and bending to try and touch her head to her left knee. Her dad was teaching her to do the splits like he could, and he kept ragging on her about flexibility being a constant struggle, so she'd taken to stretching at every opportunity to improve.

Olivia decided to let the 'you're being freaky again' thing slide and focused on other things. "Yeah...I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm lucky too. We have a great family, just..." She trailed off and sighed lightly, trying to decide how to say it without sounding like a big baby. "I have this weird feeling that I'm *missing* something. I don't know what it is. I never used to feel like this...I mean, even if I'd never met my sisters, I was perfectly happy, just me and my mom, but ever since I've been hanging out with you guys, I've felt like I'm missing something really important. And I don't know what it could possibly be."

"Like a squeeze monkey?" Hank asked bluntly, raising an eyebrow. At Olivia's look, she shrugged. "What? I felt it when I first got here, too! I was the only one not paired off, and it sucked ass! So I been there, done that, got the frickin' t-shirt...and frankly, I'm glad I ain't wearin' it no more."

With a huff, she sat up enough to crawl up on the mattress and stretch out next to Olivia, removing the pillow from beneath her head to lay flat out on her back. "Maybe it's the family itself...I mean, I know we're in there? But we ain't *in* there. Dad, Aunt Keeks, Uncle Jules...you ain't getting in that damn circle. And Bee 'n Carter...they sorta got it, too, just not as hardcore."

She paused, toying with her own fingers with a nonchalant shrug. "I'm not getting all mushy and shit, but they got these lives, y'know? These memories they share, and their folks...we don't got a place in that, so we're kinda the odd ones out."

"I don't...I don't think that's it," Olivia replied slowly. "I mean, yeah, that's part of it. But not all of it." She paused, a slight smirk touching her lips. "I can't imagine you being put out because you didn't have a boyfriend. I always thought you were, I don't know...all removed from that sort of thing."

Hank snorted and rolled her eyes, not answering at first. After about a minute, however, she sighed and shrugged. "Maybe...a little. I mean...I notice guys and shit? But I got better shit to do with my time. And fighting...releases a lot of tension, so I'm not dying to get laid or shit."

She paused, sitting up again and crossing her legs underneath her. "After Mom died...I just felt kinda lonely all the time. With Joe...I don't feel it so hard."
