The second Hank read that Olivia's door was open, she cursed to herself and shut her laptop part way, clambering to her feet. "Dad! I'll be in Liv's room!" she called out through the open door.
"You don't finish that assignment, there's gonna be hell to pay, kid!" he barked just before she unceremoniously shut the door.
"Whatever, motherfucker." she huffed under her breath, grabbing her laptop bag and her schoolbooks before padding down the corridor to Liv's room. She was really starting to hate the fact that everything everyone had to say about her was spot on...being known that well again was a little unnerving.
Liv was a band geek and annoying as shit...but she was also easygoing, and just as clueless as Hank most of the time, without being at a total loss. The two of them could swap advice that would either fail or fly, and all without the stupid adult bullshit getting in the way.
Without even bothering to announce herself, Hank got the door open to Olivia's room without knocking and kicked it shut, moving over to drop her stuff on the table.
"Okay...you're a fucking moron." she declared without preamble, pointing at Olivia for emphasis when she had a hand free. "You're a goddamn fool, and you need to be sterilized so you don't procreate and shit. You have *not* been flirting with that dumb motherfucker."

Date: 2008-02-21 12:33 am (UTC)"All right, first? No freaky deaky shit." she grumbled, propping her chin in one hand. "And second, I have no fucking clue. Stupid motherfucker doesn't call me nearly as often as he should." //Which is every ten seconds.// she added silently, hating herself as she did. She had a serious love/hate relationship with the way Joe made her feel...and she was pretty sure she was in love with him at this point.
No...she knew she was in love with him. And loving someone was a weakness in her world...a weakness that was one day going to be used against her.

Date: 2008-02-22 04:40 pm (UTC)When she remarked on Hank being lucky, Hank scowled and tilted her head, flipping her hair back over her shoulder. Lucky? Well...yeah, maybe, but...
Having no clue what she meant, Hank huffed and rolled her eyes. "Yeah? How you figure, princess?" she grunted, rising long enough to toe off her shoes and flop down on the bed, stretching her legs out on either side and bending to try and touch her head to her left knee. Her dad was teaching her to do the splits like he could, and he kept ragging on her about flexibility being a constant struggle, so she'd taken to stretching at every opportunity to improve.

Date: 2008-02-23 06:17 pm (UTC)With a huff, she sat up enough to crawl up on the mattress and stretch out next to Olivia, removing the pillow from beneath her head to lay flat out on her back. "Maybe it's the family itself...I mean, I know we're in there? But we ain't *in* there. Dad, Aunt Keeks, Uncle Jules...you ain't getting in that damn circle. And Bee 'n Carter...they sorta got it, too, just not as hardcore."
She paused, toying with her own fingers with a nonchalant shrug. "I'm not getting all mushy and shit, but they got these lives, y'know? These memories they share, and their folks...we don't got a place in that, so we're kinda the odd ones out."

Date: 2008-02-24 05:12 am (UTC)She paused, sitting up again and crossing her legs underneath her. "After Mom died...I just felt kinda lonely all the time. With Joe...I don't feel it so hard."
